Elysium Memorial Park, often shortened to just Elysium is a modern cemetery built in the outskirts of Vale. Occupying 2 acres of land owned by the Argent Corporation, it was built shortly after the Great War as a monument to the fallen soldiers. In recent times, Elysium's services have also become available to the public, as well as Huntsmen, soldiers and police officers who fall in the line of duty, and service to the kingdoms.

History:[]

The cemetery was built shortly after the Great War by Octavius Argent, a wealthy businessman whose life was saved by unknown soldiers during the war itself. He wanted to pay tribute to the brave warriors who died protecting their Kingdoms.

Despite himself being Valean and Elysium being built in Vale, the cemetery also housed soldiers from the opposing army: Atlesians and Mistrali. A decision made by Octavius, as he believed both sides fought well, and showing the former enemy respect and acceptance would help ease post-war resentment on both sides.

After his death, Octavius himself was put in the Argent family mausoleum in Elysium. He was succeeded by his son Darius, who runs the facility to this day.

Initially, Elysium was reserved only for fallen war heroes, soldiers and Huntsmen, but in recent years it has also been opened to civilians and civil servants like policemen and firefighters. After the Battle of Beacon, a new monument and burial field was added in memorial of the Huntsmen and Atlesian troops who fought to save Vale.

Elysium occupies 2 acres of land in eastern Vale, at the base of the mountains a mere hour's drive from the city and Beacon academy. The terrain is a vast expanse of grassy plains and short hills, upon which numerous graves and tombs are erected. The common graveyard tend to be a little crowded, but regular cleaning and maintenance keeps them in good condition and ensures the land's natural beauty.

While common graves and tombs are scattered all over the land, there are four distinct structures on Elysium's grounds. First is the Argent family's tomb. Built in traditional Valean (Roman) style, it is the largest tomb on site and contains the deceased of the Argent family and their relatives, including Octavius Argent himself, the founder.

The Fall Monument was added shortly after the Battle of Beacon, in memory of the brave heroes who fought and died saving Vale and its citizens. It lists hundreds of names, murals of valiant warriors fighting Grimm and the inscription "Sing for the reluctant heroes, o' give us your strength, our lives are too short." along its pillars and walls.

A small church building is also available for prayer and funeral ceremonies by family members of the deceased. Lastly there is a maintenance building, housing a small office, storage sheds for the groundskeepers equipment, a morgue and furnace for cremation.

Staff:[]

The Argent Family owns Elysium, and hires nearly fifty staff members working in shifts to act as groundskeepers, gravediggers, funeral service crew and even priests for the church. In addition to this, Elysium sometimes receives help from volunteer workers, including family members of its residents.
