Daijuto and Shojuto are Reed Chernobog's personal weapons.
Description[]
Daijuto and Shojuto, are a pair of large semi-automatic pistols with retractable katana-like blades. Daijuto’s blade is 70 centimeters in length, while Shojuto’s is 50 centimeters long. For ranged combat and when holstered, Daijuto and Shojuto are kept in pistol form, with the blades retracted up next to the barrels. Unlike many other combination weapons used by huntsmen and huntresses, when in sword form, Daijuto and Shojuto cannot fire their projectiles.
Daijuto and Shojuto each possesses a magazine capacity of twelve rounds plus one in the chamber, so when fully loaded, both handguns carry twenty-six rounds at once. The pistols fire .45 caliber ammunition, making them very effective against human-sized Grimm such as Beowolves, but not so much against monsters of noticeably larger size.
Through his semblance, Reed can create a larger blade of aura over Daijuto that is twice as long and three times as wide, giving him a substantial increase in reach without increasing the weight of the weapon. Whether in pistol or sword form, Daijuto and Shojuto are typically used in-tandem, although when activating his semblance, Reed will opt to use Daijuto by itself.

- Daijuto (大銃刀) and Shojuto (小銃刀) literally translate to "big gun blade/sword" and "small gun blade/sword" from Japanese. Daijuto and Shojuto are specifically named after Daishō, the Japanese term for a pair of swords worn by samurai consisting of a daitō, a fully-sized sword, and a shotō, a shorter sword.
- The .45 caliber ammunition used by Daijuto and Shojuto is based on the .45 ACP. The pistol form of Daijuto and Shojuto are based on the Heckler & Koch USP Match.
