Episode 2 of the OC Battledome.  The Batman of the fanon vs the woman against which no plans hold. I shall consult with my over-analysis team, and post the battle (ANIMATED) in about two days or so. Discuss your thoughts on the match below in the comments for higher chances of being chosen to have your character fight. I know this is horrendously overdue. (Six months. Ugh.) But hey, it eventually got done.

Verdict[]

Ultimately, Aurea's strength and durability advantages were too much for Ciaran to handle. While Ciaran is an excellent tactician, planning can only take you so far in a no-prep, one vs one scenario. It also doesn't help that while having more training and experience, a majority of that experience is used on stealth based combat. As the canon source (RWBY) states, those who are aura trained can sense enemies, massively limiting the use of such a combat style.

Ciaran's motorcycle's ability to be brought to him certainly made it more useful than Aurea's, however, enabling him to control the mobility of the fight more. In the end though, Ciaran's best assets are just that. Mobility, investigation, navigation, and stealth. He's many things, while Aurea's purely a combat specialist, focussing on little else. Her massive supply of aura allowed her to see how Ciaran fights while taking hits, and against someone with superior strength and durability, a combat style that Ciaran himself admitted "Leaves him open" is a bad mix. Even Ciaran's semblance is more suited to a retreat than anything, and in combat, leaves him extremely unfit for further battle, depleting his aura and lowering aura related stats, regardless of when he uses it. To this end, Aurea's lack of a semblance changes very little. So the winner of this fight is Aurea Melankranz.
