Alizarin Kettengeir is a Hunter that wanders the kingdoms of Vale, looking for work and slaying grimm wherever he can find them.

Appearance[]

Alizarin is a relatively tall man, with tanned skin and shaggy black hair tied into a rough ponytail. He usually can be found with only one arm in it. He wears rudimentary armor on his right arm and leg, choosing only to armor the parts of his body facing his opponent. What armor he does wear is the color of bone, contrasting with the light crimson clothing he wears underneath. He is often found with a five-o'clock shadow. He wears a rudimentary holster over his back to hold his weapon, which is magnetized for easy draws. He is not a fan of overly flashy clothing and accessories, though this does not mean he lacks a fashion sense.

Personality[]

Alizarin has been wandering Remnant since he graduated from Shade Academy. As such, he is somewhat out of touch with popular culture and modern occurrences; though, he learned very quickly of the fall of Beacon. He is somewhat antisocial, but often goes into towns and cities for supplies, or if he fancies a good meal or a roof over his head at night.

Weapons & Abilities[]

Alizarin's weapon is the Thundermouth, an enormous chainsword capable of bisecting even the most fearsome grimm. Thundermouth, almost as long as Alizarin is tall, is unique from other chainswords in that it has three chains, instead of just one. The three chains run parallel to each other, and Alizarin can change the direction they run, switching between up and down. A handle along the carapace of the blade allows for better grip when swinging the weapon. If required, Thundermouth can split into two weapons: one single-chain chainsword can be separated from the main weapon by activating a switch on the secondary handle. The main weapon does not change much in this mode, it simply lacks its middle blade, allowing the weapon to be swung faster. The weapon can also be enhanced with electric dust, making it that much more lethal.

Alizarin's semblance is Bow Wave, an ability which increases the power of any vibrations made by the user. Usually, this means sound waves. Alizarin can use this to great effect when combined with Thundermouth's engine.

Alizarin is a powerful duelist, and is at his best when fighting a single opponent. He is less experienced when fighting against hordes, however, due to the overwhelming nature of his weapon, multiple opponents are often not a problem.

Backstory[]

Alizarin has been a loner and a wanderer for as long as he can remember. As a young academy student, he didn't work very well with his team, always wanting to work solo. Were it not for the friendship and trust he had in his team leader, it's likely he would not have graduated into a full-blown hunter. While many teams stick together after the academy, Alizarin opted to leave his team, wandering the world instead of being stationed in any town or city.

Alizarin was born into a family of hunters with a very samurai-esque mindset. The hunters of the family used very traditional rifle-katana weapons, with minimal to no ornamentation or customization. Alizarin was a black sheep: instead of being a studious swordsman wishing to lead a spartan lifestyle, he instead pursued engineering and machinery. His room was always the loudest and messiest in the house, filled with gears and engine parts. His family felt shame towards his actions, and as soon as they could, they sent him out to live at the primary hunters school in Vacuo. Over the course of his education, Alizarin discovered that in order to become a powerful hunter, he had to embrace his heritage, as well as use his engineering skills. This fusion is embodied in his mighty weapon, and in his fighting style.
