Personality[]
Alani is an outgoing person. A thrillseeker and nature lover at heart, Alani loves everything and anything about Nature. People would describe her as Bubbly, and Sporadic. She can sometimes jump from topic to topic in a blink of an eye.
Occasionally, people would question the oranges on her attire. To that, surprisingly, her respond is offering them the oranges, and told them to eat it...Because she doesn't seem to mind ruining her decorative pieces to quench other people's desire for oranges. When asked about this, she said that she can just ask her parents to give her more oranges to replace the missing ones.
Appearance[]
A rather short teenager with short black hair, and chocolate eyes, tanned skinned all over.
She wears a complete set of Hula Dancer clothing, with the bikini, and Hula Skirt...with blades on its ends. The most iconic part of her clothes is oranges, on her Hawaiian necklace (Or lei), and a pair of larger oranges on her headpiece(Or leipo'o).
Beads-attached-wire coils around both of her lower arms. They're colored in wooden chocolate. The beads are wooden cylindrical in shape.

Hoop Slicer[]
Hoop Slicer is basically a Bladed Hula Hoop with three blades. Able to be infused with Dust. It has the ability to store three magazines of Dusts. She can infuse three types of Dust into the blades. However, each Dust can only be infused into one blade. Meaning, she can only infuse one kind of Dust into one of the blades. However, this means that she can have three Dust effects going on at once. She commonly uses a combination of Earth, Wind, and Fire/Burn Dust(YES, THIS IS A JOJO reference again).
Earth - Allows her to sharpen the blade
Wind - Creates a knockback effect
Fire/Dust - Adds a Scorching effect to the slashes
The shape of this hoop slicer is not like your average hula hoop though. It's also has a more complex mechanism than you might think, since it has the ability to store charges of electricity through the protruding spots(They're Dynamos) in the inner circle of the Hoop Slicer. She can charge the Hoop Slicer by performing countless Hula Hoops. With enough electric energy, the three blades that're attached to the Hula would start to Spin like a shredder, until it ran out of power (Which is 5 minutes).
She would carry this anywhere, without a problem.

Semblance (Hula-Glo)[]
This Semblance can only be activated once she has looped her hula hoop long enough. Upon spinning her hula for the first few times, it would began emitting an orange aura. If she continues to spin the hula without interval, the glow would be more brighter, eventually matching the brightness with a flashlight, but orange colored.
Alani can throw her hula even after some few times of spinning it, and it becomes a remotely controlled flying slicer. Although, it can only fly as far as 100 meters away from her. The orange glow would still be present as the hula flies, but it will eventually dim out from prolonged uses (At its maximum potential, the orange glow can last about 10 minutes tops). Once the orange glow is no longer present, Alani can no longer control her hula, and she has to manually track down the hula itself.
The orange glow can also act as a source of illumination.
On its own , the hula Slicer is sharp and swift enough to easily cut through Ursais clean. However, despite the sharpness, and swiftness. Slicing, parrying, and attacking an enemy in general would reduce the brightness of the glow significantly, meaning that she cannot use this Semblance to fight a distant enemy for too long.
Great Leap Length[]
With this talent, she can hop on top off her Hoop Slicer to ride it like a floating skateboard.
Backstory[]
Despite her exterior appearance, Alani was not born from the sands itself. Her skin was not dark at first, it was actually white pale. But these events change everything for her.
Alani was actually born in the tropical islands of Vale, somewhere near the border of Vacuo, to a couple of orange farmers. Being the daughter of a farmer, Alani's outgoing and adventurous personality starts to take shape. She would do what kids like to do the most, running around without any burden or responsibilities, while enjoying nature's gifts to her. She would occasionally pluck ripe oranges from its tree, and eat it. Overall, her early life was a pleasant one.
That is until her mother caught an infectious disease. Fearing the worst, her father sent her away with her aunt to Vacuo. They do not have any fancy transportation, or enough money to afford a cross-continental ride, so what they did, is that they had to travel by land, using a horse pulled wagon. During the trip, Alani slowly became closer and closer to her aunt. Her aunt revealed to her that she was a Hula Dancer and a Hula Hoop hobbyist, travelling between Vale and Vacuo to search for money.
Her aunt also attempted to teach her how to be responsible, but well..being the kid that she is, she only nods cheerfully, before saying a loud "OK", without even understanding anything her aunt had said. What her aunt managed to do though, is making her interested towards Hula Dancing and Hula Hoop. Alani thinks that its a cheerful and fun thing to do to kill time during their trip.
She discovered that she was talented in Hula Hooping. She was able to perform difficult transitions smoothly (As in, she can move her Hula Hoop from her waist to her wrist within a second). Her aunt then decided to use her talent to assist her in her performances. Due to the dangerous nature of the performances themselves (They used Hula's with protruding spots that would be lit with fire), Alani gained a lot of attention due to her relatively young age. One of which is from an evil engineer.
The engineer, with the help of his henchmen then kidnaps Alani from her aunt at night. The engineer told her that he wanted her to test a weapon he made, however, it requires an expertise in Hula Hoop usage. The engineer thought that she might be fearing for her life. But due to her Sporadic, Innocent, and overall Positive nature, she didn't. The engineer also made a promise if Alani didn't kill herself with this weapon, she would be sent to Shade to become a Huntress.
And to everyone's surprise, with some cuts and bruises on her arms and legs, She survived the test. The engineer keeps his promise, and sent her to Shade.
