well i can't really add much here, everyone has pretty much put all there is to this fight on previous posts imho, one thing i'd like to take some time to explain though, is the whole experience factor, and how it IS indeed a very big one.
you see, while Sanuye does indeed have much more training and experience than the average student, she's still just a student, even factoring in all her accumulated experience she is still nowhere near as experienced as Egil, even if one assumed Egil had little to no training before attending signal he still would have started studies at age 14 (remmember ruby was 15 when recruited to beacon, and she had been in signal for a year already) this means Egil has an accumulated "training time" of 25 years, while Sanuye (having started training at age 5) has only 15. Not only that, but while starting combat training at an early eage would give someone an advanatge in the long run, the fact is someone that young simply doesn't have the psychomotricity to perfect their art, and while they will get some advancement it'll be slower and far more limited than an older student's would.
Now we must also take into account the time they have been working on their trade, Sanuye started properlly working for the Uroboros group before attending beacon, meaning she has over 6 years of work experience (while it doesn't say how long she's been working for the group, i'm guessing it can't be much more than that 'cus she'd be too young to be of any use), Egil on the other hand has been working his trade since he graduated from beacon, meaning 20 years of work experience, furthermore the last 13 have been spent dealing with the vale underground (as well as teaching at signal) so he's been fighting humans for at least that long.
last but not least on the experience front, is life experience. Egil has had a mostly normal life, and his overall "life experience" time can be summed up as his entire life. On the othr hand we have Sanuye who, while she may have been rigorously trained and educated from an early age, doesn't seem to have had much exposure to the outside world for most of her life, i'm taking this from this part of her profile:
"Sanuye attended primary combat school and joined the huntsmen academy in order to watch over the heiress. This ended up being the best thing for her, as she was exposed to a much wider world, causing her knowledge and experience to skyrocket"
The only way that would make sense would be that A) she grew up in an isolated environment, having little exposure to the outside world and thus had yet to adapt and properly learn how to function in human society; and B) her knowledge and experience was limited to familiar foes and subjects, meaning she hadn't faced that big a variety of situations.
this would mean Sanuye, while definetly a very skilled combatant, would still have limited experience in terms of dealing with other highly skilled and, most importantly, varied foes. to put it in perspective, if a dojo has a young and extremely talented black belt that has participated in a variety of tournaments, facing both his own and other combat styles, it'd be an extremely impressive fighter. but the much older Dan 5 that has participated in twice as many and twice as varied tournaments will still beat the unholy crap out of them, even if they weren't as "talented" back in the day.
just to illustrate this point, here's a similar situation to this fight.
a very talented soldier who, while still within human possibility, has accumulated an enormous amounth of experience, vs a child soldier genetically engineered to be THE perfect soldier.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lR0ijNLgugo
as we can see, Liquid(Eli) easily dominates a normal soldier (average talent, average training, etc), but Ocelot isn't an average soldier, he's very talented himself and has much MUCH more experience than Liquid. meaning that while Liquid's "talent" factor is off the charts and vastly VASTLY outclasses Ocelot's, the later still easily overpowers him 'cus he simply knows what he's doing much better than Liquid.
this of course is an exageration, the match between Sanuye an Egil would be nowhere near as one-sided, Sanuye is a formidable opponent for Egil and it'd end up being a close fight, but in the end Egil is still the superior combatant
welperino, just as i was going to get in on this one...
I BLAME UNIVERSITY FOR KEEPING ME BUSY
huh, just as i was about to vote, not like it'd make a difference, my vote was for Orran.
'kay just gonna say one thing here, i don't even need to go sciency this time.
bulletproof glass one of the least transparent glasses out there, it's all about internal structure and composition, if Dalton's semblance makes prisms with the qualities of glass, it's gonna have to follow overall coloring due to structure and composition, and bulletproof glass looks like this
http://www.ksbdoors.ru/images/pptriplex.jpg
and it only gets more tinted the thicker it is, so it's gonna be pretty visible if Alala can freely see through smoke, just sayin'.
furthermore, glass isn't truly transparent to begin with (not even air is for that matter, air is actually blue, and so is water). there's a reason why you don't see people smashing into glass panels or glass doors all the time, we can see it (birds on the other hand, usually don't detect such minimal differences in transparency, that's why you DO see birds smacking into glass, this can be fixed by lightly tinting the glass btw).
^that's all very important, and gives Dalton much more versatility than it seemed at first, you should probably add it to his page for the sake of clarity.
'KAY NOW SCIENCE TIME!
you see Delta, smoke ISN'T a gas, it's made of a large amounth of airborne solid and/or liquid particles, this means the smoke is suspended in the air by the air itself, and denser smoke simply means there's more floating particles. while dense enough smoke will indeed sink to the ground faster it isn't by much, smoke is affected much more by air temperature in that regard, the general rule is that if the air carrying the smoke is hotter than the surrounding air it won't sink, even if the smoke is very very dense.
this is a good example of what i'm saying http://c8.alamy.com/comp/BWX2Y3/fire-burn-tires-brittany-fire-france-europe-dense-smoke-road-block-BWX2Y3.jpg
the smoke there is extremely dense, you can't see anything past it at all, yet it floats upwards 'cus it's hot.
I'd also like to point out that Alala's semblance DOESN'T make smoke denser, it only makes it last longer (i'm guessing it somehow prevents it from overscattering? idk)
OKAY, SCIENCE TIME!.
first of all, yes smoke can be compressed, but it's not that easy to do so, you can only compress smoke if you put it in a sealed space and then shrink that space by some means, for example a valve; otherwise the smoke will simply escape through any openings in the the container. This means in order to compress Alala's smoke Dalton woud have to follow this process:
1) encapsule the smoke in some way, maybe using the arena's walsl if it has any, maybe with a bunch of his prisms.
2) compress said encapsuled space in some way.
the problem here is Dalton's projection's have to be rooted to a solid surface, which means he can't move them after making them, as such he has no way to compress the encapsuled area.
furthermore, smoke would still disperse while he makes the "capsule", and he can't make it with a single prism 'cus his projections are always squared.
EDIT: well Lux if the glass panels are rooted on the ground, the simple answear to that is "enough froce to break either the glass or the ground", if there's a lower limit defined by the strenght of the union between materials, we'd have to get delta to define that
YAY STRAWPOLL!
I AM HERE TO ADD SOME POINTS WITH THE INCREDIBLE POWER OF SCIENCE!
okay first of all, if Alala's semblance doesn't reduce his strenght, then his melee attacks are actually stronger when he's weightless, why you ask?, 'CUS MATH.
you see the formula for kinetic energy is K = m*(s^2)/2, where K = kinetic energy, m = mass and s = speed, since Alala's flail doesn't lose wieght m is the same, but s is bigger 'cus he uses virtualy no energy to move his own body, ergo more force goes to the flail, which means greater acceleration and thus greater speed, so weightless Alala's flail actually hits harder.
second, regarding it not being clear whether or not Alala has more ammo than Dalton, Alala's ranged weaponry is 2 revolver shotguns, revolvers aren't revolvers without a drum, so that means he has at least 2 rounds per gun, and honestly i was aassuming 6 shooters, 4 shooters at least, so yeah he has at least twice the ammo without reloading that Dalton does, and that's if his revolvers have silly tiny drums.
something i think is extremely important here is, how draining is Dalton's semblance?, and how big is the arena?, since Dalton's bulwarks need grounding to be deployed he can't just put barriers anywhere, if the Arena's ceiling is high enough he'd have to make very tall prisms ( or a load of smaller ones) before he can cover air space. Furthermore while yes Glass pannels can block smoke, smoke moves pretty fast, and will quickly move around said pannels and get everywhere, especially if movement is added from Alala's flail or wind dust rounds, and being gas it moves in all directions, including up the bulwarks, meaning given enough time Alala can just glide over them unless they reach the Ceiling, though admittedly this would get progressively harder the taller the barriers get.
last but not least, since Alala's smoke sticks to things, each prism Dalton deploys can be turned into a dust-smoke bomb for Alala to use, meaning Dalton's semblance could backfire spectacularly on him. it's worth noting not even the sturdiest bullet resistant glass can take medium-to-high yield explosives which Alala's dust smoke clouds seem to be, so a fire dust charged cloud would blow up the bulwarks and glass shards would be sent flying everywhere, this could literally stab Alala in the back (or the gut) though, so detonating dust clouds while there's a lot of prisms would be very VERY dangerous for both combatants.
I don't know how cold Ice dust blasts are, but condiering it likelly makes the ice itself instead of freezing local moisture, i don't think we have to take into account thermodynamics for freezing, however the ice made with Ice dust can last pretty long, so it's definetly much colder than 0C when made, otherwise it'd start melting instantly.
I think Alala has the upper hand in this one.
Overall they both have similar durability and melee capabilities, but while Dalton's ranged attacks are pretty strong, they also have limited range and VERY limited ammo. Meanwhile Alala has much more reliable Ranged combat options, both due to having more ammo and becasue of his semblance letting him set up large amounths of dust infused smoke to blow up.
Furthermore, while Dalton's semblance could block any attack from Alala's weapons, it can't block the smoke unless he seals himself up in a glass cube, and any glass bulwarks he may set up can serve as surfaces for Alala's smoke to stick to, turning his barriers into dust-smoke bombs for Alala to use.
Alala also has much greater mobility. Not only is he pretty nimble by default, his semblance gives him aereal mobility if he can get the area covered in smoke.
A very important factor in this battle is the environment. Alala's semblance is much less powerful in windy conditions, but if the fight is in an enclosed arena all he has to do is fil the place with smoke to hide in. then he can just float about and take shots at Dalton from a safe distance, or detonate the smoke if Dalton makes bulwarks with his semblance.
YAY STRAWPOLL!
@Taki-Tan
I agree with everything but one thing, Valka's semblance has a minuscule drain on her, a 1 meter sprint is literaly a single very fast step, and this is regardless of teleported distance, meaning she can chain teleport A LOT.
despite this i agree Bele has the upper hand due to versatility, so long as he can keep a minimum distance from Valka he'll eventually win. The key is whether or not he really can keep it up.
my vote goes for Orion Kane
also Lux, using Strawpoll might make thihngs easier to manage
can i just say i agree with the above comments mentioning how Orion is the more likely to win?, 'cus that's what i think.
anyhow if it's worth anything my vote's for Orion
sooo, how do we vote exactly?, is there a poll site or something?, just curious.
